The higher end trek bikes are made in the USA, not to say that bikes made in China are of a lesser quality. And supposedly this headtube design is stronger, and it enables you to use any fork with a 1.125 steerer tube, it just uses a reducer on the bottom end. I had a session 10 and it used a very similar system except it used a 1.5 on top. I'm ordering one of these soon
